Skin Rehabilitation Nurses must be institutionalized

Skin
rehabilitation nurses serve as light for the patients who have handicap because
of their appearance due to burns or injuries. Therefore, more nurses are to
participate in the field of skin rehabilitation, thereby developing skin
rehabilitation into specialized nursing.

As
a method of helping the burn patients regain their appearance and return to
normal social life, the skin rehabilitation nursing is in the limelight. As a
special massage technique to improve immunity and resistance, the skin
rehabilitation nursing naturally reduces pain, itching, skin strain, protruding
tissue and lymph edema.

The
skin rehabilitation nursing is professionally conducted at Oh, Jung Ok Skin
Rehabili-Center (Director Oh, Jung Ok) and Bestian Medical
Center (Director Kim, Kyung Sik). In particular, Oh, Jung Ok, as a pioneer in
this field, helps many burn patients live new life and train younger generations
based on her know-how in skin rehabilitation.

Technical
Advisor Oh, Jung Ok transfer practical know-how and 3 skilled nurses including
Chief Nurse Sim, Eun Young take case of 400~500 patients on a monthly basis.
Kim, Hyeon Joo, who visited the clinic because of her child who suffered burns
in the hand said: “The skin gets soft and the hand moves naturally after
4-month skin rehabilitation nursing therapy. I will recommend this therapy to
others so they can experience this amazing effect of skin rehabilitation
nursing therapy.”

The
nurse who want to become a skin rehabilitation nurse can acquire civilian qualification
through completing the courses including the introduction and particulars of
skin rehabilitation nursing, skin stimulation therapy, wound care and nursing
management, etc. at the Continuing Education Center of  Red Cross College of Nursing. Oh, Jung Ok,
the full-time lecturer in this course, said: “As the patients are desperate for
the skin rehabilitation nursing therapy, I wish the skin rehabilitation nurses
would be institutionalized as soon as possible.”.
